Erik Perkins

Erik Perkins is a U.S. Diplomat currently working in the Consular Section of U.S. Embassy Sofia, Bulgaria. Before arriving in Bulgaria, he was stationed at U.S. Consulate General Guadalajara, Mexico. Prior to joining the Department of State, Erik worked with the Social Security Administration in Boston, MA. Before his time working for the U.S. federal government, he was a Peace Corps Health Volunteer in Nicaragua, working on various health education programs in collaboration with the Nicaraguan Ministry of Health. Erik earned his Master of Public Health from the University of Alabama – Birmingham and has bachelor’s degrees in biology and Latin American languages from the University of California – Berkeley. Erik has lived in Brazil, Nicaragua, Mexico and various regions within the United States.
