Born and raised in Athens, Spyridon Kagkas is a communications, destination, diversity, and urban sustainability consultant providing services to nonprofits, business, and public sector clients. He uses his skills in digital marketing, crisis management, and destination development to help consumer, corporate, and hospitality brands stand out from the competition. Currently he is the Digital and Community Manager for the Athens Development and Destination Management Agency. Spyridon oversees the agency’s digital channels, and its sustainable and DEI initiatives. He is also the head of This is Athens with a Local, an initiative connecting visitors with Athenian volunteers so they can experience the city’s neighborhoods through the eyes of a local. In his free time, Spyridon is an urban activist and one of the leading figures of Atenistas, fighting for gender equality, lgbtq+ visibility, and just urbanism, raising his voice and taking action to make sure that we become the change we wish to see.
