Richard is an IT professional with twenty-four years’ experience. He has worked for AIFS for sixteen years, heading up the UK Information Technology team. When Richard joined AIFS in 2001, all AIFS programme applications arrived in the office by post, to then be typed into a database before being photocopied and couriered to the AIFS US office. Richard has overseen significant systems developments and changes to make AIFS a fully online business helping thousands of young people to participate in the Au Pair in America and Camp America programmes every year. Before working in Cultural Exchange he worked for two large UK retailers on planning and forecasting systems as well as the early implementation of B2B Internet systems. Richard is the Data Protection Officer for AIFS and has overseen the company’s compliance with the Data Protection Regulations, the move away from Safe Harbor and is now working hard to ensure compliance with GDPR. Richard is British and has an MA in Mathematics from Oxford University and an MSc in Computer Science from Imperial College, London.
