Alexis Blackburn-Rose
Work & Travel USA Program Director, InterExchange
Alexis Blackburn-Rose is Program Director, Work & Travel USA at InterExchange, Inc., a New York City based not-for-profit cultural exchange organization. Alexis began her career at InterExchange in 2003 as a seasonal staff member, tasked with verifying placements for Summer Work & Travel participants. Over her extensive career at InterExchange, she has tackled all aspects related to the administration, compliance and oversight of the Work & Travel program, from conducting participant orientations and host employer site visits, to managing stakeholder relationships with the U.S. State Department and Consular Services at U.S. Embassies abroad, as well as participating in government advocacy.
Originally from Indiana, Alexis holds a B.A. in Political Science and Eastern European Studies from Indiana University. A semester spent interning in Washington, D.C. and a semester abroad in Prague, Czech Republic, gave her an exciting glimpse into the wider world and demonstrated the power of people to people exchanges. Alexis is looking forward to resuming international travel and meeting face to face with enthusiastic young people from around the world looking to experience American culture.
